The Vancouver Canucks (12-3-1) travel to the Scotiabank Saddledome at 6 p.m. PST to take on the Calgary Flames (5-8-2) in their first meeting of the season. Thursday’s starter, Casey DeSmith, is yet to record a win in his career against the Flames. On the other side of the ice, Jacob Markstrom will face his old Canucks in what has been another challenging season for both him and his current team.

In addition, Canucks winger Andrei Kuzmenko is not expected to be available Thursday. Pius Suter, who was out of the lineup Wednesday night, will draw back in.
