Thatcher Demko

The Canucks number one goaltender was placed on injured reserve Friday after returning from nearly a week off of maintenance. Demko made it just 20 minutes into his return to the lineup against the Winnipeg Jets on Wednesday before going down again with another injury

There is no official word yet on what Demko’s injury is outside of a 2-3 week "lower body" injury, but it is initially believed to be a groin injury. This timeline estimate is primitive, and more news should be available in the coming week on the severity of Demko’s new injury.

Quinn Hughes

The Canucks Captain has been in and out of the lineup so far to start the season, as he played in the first nine games for the team, sat out the next four, played the next five, and missed the team’s most recent contest against the Carolina Hurricanes with an undisclosed injury. Hughes was considered a game-time decision going into Friday’s game, as he left Wednesday’s game agains the Winnipeg Jets briefly with an upper-body injury, but ultimately returned to the contest only to miss Canuck’s practice

The captain’s play has been strong this year, as he has 13 points in 14 games while averaging 27 minutes of ice time per game, and the hope is that he will be able to get back into the lineup sooner than later as he is currently considered day-to-day.

Filip Hronek

The latest player to go down for the Canucks, Hronek took an elbow to the side of the head from Carolina forward Andrei Svechnikov just shy of overtime on Friday, and was pulled by a concussion spotter for further evaluation. Hronek was able to skate off the ice without any assistance which is a good sign, and more information regarding his status should be available in the coming days as the Canucks next game is Sunday in Tampa Bay.

Filip Chytil

Mums the word on the status of Chytil, who is believed to be dealing with a concussion from this hit from Tom Wilson. The young centre has a history of concussions and the Canucks are letting him take his time as they are exercising necessary caution.

Jonathan Lekkerimäki

Lekkerimäki has actually been activated by the Canucks after suffering an upper-body injury, but was sent to Abbotsford for a conditioning stint in order to get back up to speed. The winger should soon make his return to the Canucks lineup.

Nils Höglander

Status quo after suffering a lower-body injury in the preseason. The forward is expected to be out until around December

Teddy Blueger

Blueger had recently made an appearance at the Canucks morning skate, but according to Head Coach Adam Foote, is unlikely to return during the team's current road trip which is runs until November 17th.
