Canucks lines @ Canadiens: Expected lineups and goalies
After a disappointing loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs with which some eastern media members will discredit the Vancouver Canucks (10-3-1), they visit the Montreal Canadiens (7-5-2) at the Bell Centre. The Canucks were winners of their last five games prior to the loss, and the Canadiens represent a good opportunity to get back in the win column.
As Thatcher Demko started against the Maple Leafs, Casey DeSmith will face the Canadiens. For Montreal, it’ll be Jake Allen in goal. Head coach Rick Tocchet also said Teddy Blueger will play, but we’re not sure where, exactly.

Canucks goaltending:
As they planned – for workload management purposes – Casey DeSmith will start tonight and Thatcher Demko will be his backup.
Notes:
- Quinn Hughes and Filip Hronek allowed two even strength goals to the Maple Leafs’ bottom-six the other night. Their hot streak came to a crashing halt.
- Teddy Blueger is a lock to play.
- Ian Cole and Mark Friedman had a 0% xGoal percentage against the Maple Leafs, and played just 6:34 together, per MoneyPuck.
- Tanner Pearson faces the Canucks for the first time since getting traded in the summer.
