Canucks sign Joshua, Delia and Kalynuk
The Vancouver Canucks have signed three players to low-dollar deals, adding to both their NHL and AHL rosters.
The Canucks signed forward Dakota Joshua to a two-year, one-way deal. The value of the contract has yet to be released.
Defenceman Wyatt Kalynuk and goaltender Collin Delia signed identical one-year, two way contracts worth $750,000 at the NHL level. Both played games for the Chicago Blackhawks last year.
Joshua, 26, has four goals, nine points and four fights through 42 games with the St. Louis Blues. At 6’3” and 206 lbs, he is sure to provide some of the grit that the Canucks have been searching for. His contract is a one-way deal, meaning that he will likely play the majority of it at the NHL level.
The Blues drafted Joshua in the fifth round of the 2014 draft, 128th overall.

Delia, 28, has nine wins and a .904 save percentage through 32 NHL games. With the departure of Jaroslav Halak and the promotion of Spencer Martin, Delia will likely spend most of his time in the AHL. In the case of an injury to either of the NHL goalies, Delia will be a reliable option to step in.
The California native went undrafted in the NHL and signed with the Blackhawks in 2017.
Kalynuk, 25, has 26 games’ worth of experience in the NHL, all for the Chicago Blackhawks. He has four goals and nine assists with a -9 plus/minus rating.
The Brandon, Manitoba native was taken by the Philadelphia Flyers in the seventh round of the 2017 draft, 196th overall. In 2020, he signed with the Blackhawks as a free agent.
All three signings will add to the Canucks’ depth going into the 2022-23 season. Joshua will likely spend the entire season at the NHL level, while Delia and Kalynuk will be at the top of management’s list when looking for call-ups throughout the season.
