Following yet another home defeat, this time at the hands of the Nashville Predators on Friday night, the Vancouver Canucks (4-6-1) host the Dallas Stars (4-4-2) on Sunday night in game six of their seven-game homestand. The Canucks, losers in five of their last six contests, will look to get back on track after suffering yet another one goal loss.
The Dallas Stars roll into town on the back of a 4-3 overtime victory over Calgary on Thursday night. Dallas, led by head coach Rick Bowness and stars Tyler Seguin and Miro Heiskanen, boast a porous offence, mustering a measly 2.1 goals per game, good for 30th in the NHL.
Ironically, the Stars have been able to stay competitive in the early goings of this season, thanks to the stellar play of ex-Canuck goalie Braden Holtby. Dallas has been through lots of ups and downs over the course of the last calendar year, however still remain a tricky opponent each and every night, with their run to the 2020 Stanley Cup Final still fairly fresh in their minds.
After another quiet offensive night against Nashville, the Canucks offensive output has slipped down to 28th in the league at 2.36 goals per game. Vancouver will need its top talent to rediscover their game fast if they want to avoid falling deep into an early season hole.
As mentioned above, expect to see Holtby in net for the Stars as he takes on his goaltending partner from last year, Thatcher Demko.

Canucks vs. Stars Prediction:
The Canucks are going to win this hockey game. Simple as that.
Desperation is starting to set in throughout the Canucks organization and its fanbase, and losing another game in this home stand will lead to some increased calls for drastic change. The players in that locker room know it, as do Travis Green and his staff.
The Stars haven’t been the same team since their Cup run in the bubble, and don’t strike nearly as much fear into opponents as they once did. The chance for a Holtby revenge run does strike a little fear, but expect Vancouver to come out hungry for a victory.
Pick: Canucks’ Moneyline at -110
