After ending their four game losing streak on Tuesday night, the Vancouver Canucks will look to flip the script and start their own winning streak on Friday night. Following a thrilling 3-2 (OT) come from behind victory against the Rangers, the Canucks (4-5-1) host the Nashville Predators (5-5-0) in game five of their seven game home stand.

After being plagued by their typical troubles through two periods against the Rangers, Vancouver sprung into life during the 3rd period, scoring twice to draw even thanks to goals by J.T. Miller and Vasily Podkolzin. In overtime, Miller scored his second of the game, earning the Canucks a much needed two points.

The opposing Nashville Predators roll into Vancouver on the back of a 5-2 defeat against the Oilers. Nashville have won four of their last five however despite only having middle of the pack rankings offensively and defensively. The Predators are led by head coach John Hynes, and boast notable talent including the likes of Roman Josi, Matt Duchene, and Filip Forsberg.

Despite no confirmation at the time of this writing, it appears likely that both the Canucks and Predators will proceed with starters Thatcher Demko and Juuse Saros between the pipes on Friday night.

Predators vs. Canucks: Prediction

This game is too close too call. The Predators were on a four game winning streak before losing on Wednesday, while Vancouver were on a four game losing streak before winning on Tuesday. Three of the last four Nashville game have gone under the total, whilst Vancouver has had the under hit in five of their last six outings. With this being the recent betting trends with these two teams, plus the fact that both teams rank in the bottom half of the league in scoring, betting the under on Friday seems to be only safe pick available.

Pick: Under 5.5 goals
