Last night the Vancouver Canucks completed a three-game sweep of the Ottawa Senators in astonishing fashion. Over those three games, Brock Boeser and the Canucks outscored their eastern opponent by a total score of 16-3 at Vancouver’s Rogers Arena.

Because of great special teams, excellent goaltending and hard work, the Canucks dug themselves out of a hole after they started the season with one of the league’s worst records of 2-5. It’s incredible how quickly the narrative can change.

“We knew it was an Important series, especially before a road trip and after our start,” Boeser said in the post-game media scrum, “To get back to 500 and play well and play how we’ve been playing before the road trip, I think it’s huge and gives our group confidence going on the road.”

In their search for victory, Boeser has been a driving force for the Canucks. He registered three points last night, is currently third on the team in points, and his goal total of six puts him in a tie for the most goals in the NHL. Here’s what he had to say about his puck luck against Matt Murray.

“Yeah. I’m not sure what it is,” Boeser said with a smirk, “Definitely have had some success against him, so I can’t tell you what it is, just shooting the puck and it’s going in the net right now.”

Whatever it is, it’s working and Boeser needs to keep doing it as his wrist-shot appears to have returned to its rookie form. You know, the season where his shot couldn’t be stopped? Yeah, the one where he was an All-Star MVP and a Calder Trophy Finalist!

Vancouver is set to hit the road for a six-game road trip. They’ll visit the Winnipeg Jets for a cup of coffee before taking on the Montreal Canadiens twice and battling the Toronto Maple Leafs for three straight games.

Stiff competition is what’s in store for Vancouver. Can they return home with a winning record? The Canucks right-wing sniper will play a big role in that decision. Are Boeser and the Canucks ready for such a task?
