The Vancouver Canucks’ 2020-21 schedule has been released, starting with a back-to-back in Edmonton.

We are inching closer to the return of hockey, as the Vancouver Canucks have released their schedule for the 2020-21 season.  In a season like none other, the Canucks will be playing in an all Canadian division.

Vancouver will open the season with back-to-back games in Edmonton on January 13th and 14th. Afterwards, they’ll play two games in Calgary on the 16th and 18th. The Canucks home opener is against the Montreal Canadiens on the 20th, which is the first of three straight against the Habs. Of course, there is still the possibility that the team may not play their home games in Vancouver and might need to find a home elsewhere, likely in Edmonton.

Vancouver will be playing the Alberta teams ten times this season and the rest of the Canadian teams nine times. By the end of the season, fans of opposing teams will be sick of each other. It’s like having your relatives over for dinner every day and getting tired of them.

The Canucks will play seven back-to-back games this season and there will be six days off for the team between March 24th against the Winnipeg Jets and March 31st against the Calgary Flames.

More from The Canuck Way

Some highlights in the schedule include four straight games against the Flames in mid-February. This should be fun after the Flames signed almost every Vancouver free agent during the offseason. The team will also play the Ottawa Senators four straight times in late April. There will be three straight games against the Maple Leafs in Toronto in early February as well.

Vancouver plays on Saturday 14 times and Friday only three times.

Their final road game is on May 1st in Toronto, while the final home game is on May 8th against Calgary.

You can view the full schedule below.

There will be plenty of hockey for the next few months as the longest wait between games is two days outside of the six-day break in March. It will also be interesting to see how coach Travis Green plays Thatcher Demko and Braden Holtby during back-to-backs. With games happening every two days or so, it will also be interesting to see how the players deal with the travel schedule and injuries and how the taxi squad will be used.
