The Vancouver Canucks are a team that has had a lot of different looks over the years. Today, they unveiled their reverse retro jerseys for the 2021 season.

Just in time for the holiday season, the NHL has released an entirely new line of reverse retro jerseys for all 31 teams. The Vancouver Canucks revealed their new look on Monday morning, a green and blue jersey that they will wear a handful of times over the course of the 2021 regular season.

The curtain was dropped and so were the jaws of many Canucks fans. Back on the shelves is yet another new and improved jersey that looks oh so familiar. Deciding to go back to the roots of early 2000’s Vancouver hockey, the Canucks dug up a forgotten jersey of the past and made some welcomed adjustments to bring it back to life.

Remember the “Love them or hate them” faded burgundy jerseys that were worn during the West Coast Express’ rise to league domination? Well, they look almost exactly like that, except this time the colours are a little bit different. The Canucks blue that is normally found on their home jerseys hits a much darker shade this time around and what would have been the red/burgundy of the old jerseys is now a gradient green. The logo, still the mainstay Orca.

After the Canucks and the rest of the NHL dropped a teaser of the reverse retro jerseys last week, it appeared as if Vancouver Canucks fans were bound to be disappointed. Today, shots of the full jersey have been released and the overall reaction from the fanbase feels better than expected. The gradient transition between colours looks great and Elias Pettersson is ready to make these jerseys look even better by putting them on every highlight reel around the NHL next season with his excellent play.

What do you think Canucks Nation? Are you putting these on your holiday wish list? Or is this just another jersey that Vancouver dropped the ball on? Let us know in the comment section.
