The Vancouver Canucks are in deep vs. the Vegas Golden Knights, but a healthy Tyler Toffoli could be exactly what the team needs to get back into the series.

Tyler Toffoli is inching closer to a return to the Vancouver Canucks lineup and with any luck, he may even lace up the skates for tonight’s Game 2 matchup versus the Vegas Golden Knights.

According to Rick Dhaliwal – one of the Canucks best insiders – Toffoli will skate (or did skate) with the main group in this morning’s practice and that there is a chance (not confirmed) that he’ll be dressed tonight in preparation for the pregame warmup and possibly the game itself.

Travis Green has been tight-lipped when it comes to the players on his injury list, especially during playoff time, but today when he was available to the media he didn’t have anything to say about the status of the team’s newest winger. He was short and sweet with his answers and the reporters didn’t even ask about it.

Toffoli – who had 10 points in 10 games with the Canucks before the break – has been out of action since Game 1 versus the Minnesota Wild in the Play-In round over three weeks ago. He’s spent the majority of his time in a boot but in recent days he has skated a couple of times.

Vancouver has got the job done up to this point with series wins over both the Wild and the defending Stanley Cup Champions, but the Golden Knights are a completely different animal. Relentless speed and a powerhouse of a top-six have put the Canucks on their heels, but inserting Toffoli into the Canucks top-six could be exactly what the team needs in order to match Vegas’ intensity.

He’s played lights out for the Canucks since his arrival in a late-season trade, and it would be an absolute shame if he didn’t get an opportunity to help this team win in the playoffs.
