The Vancouver Canucks preseason has officially come to a close, and now it’s time for them to make some tough decisions when it comes to their final roster. One of these tough decisions is being forced by the exceptional play of Adam Gaudette.

What else could Adam Gaudette have done to prove that he’s ready to be a mainstay in the Vancouver Canucks‘ lineup? Gaudette’s first preseason wasn’t anything special, but nearly every game after that saw Gaudette turn in more than exceptional performances. He’s ready to be on this team’s third line.

Gaudette’s play throughout the preseason caught the attention of nearly everybody watching, including his coaches, Canucks’ management, the main NHL Twitter account, and every sports radio show in Vancouver.

Everyone is talking about Gaudette and how he should be on this team’s opening night roster, but how will the Canucks make it work? Gaudette doesn’t require waivers to go down to the AHL, which makes him the obvious choice to be cut; but what message does that send to the team’s other young players?

It’s simple — you should try to ice the best team you can to begin a season in the NHL, especially when you’ve got your sights set on making the playoffs, which the Canucks do. The Canucks will have a tough decision to make, and forcing the issue is Adam Gaudette.

An announcement could come at any time now, but the Canucks seemingly want to create a spot for Gaudette, which means someone could be out of a job soon. But who could it be? How can the Canucks make room for Gaudette? Here’s three possible scenarios.
