3. Lee Sweatt, D (Played three games with the Canucks in 2011)

Lee Sweatt enjoyed fruitful spell at Colorado College but went undrafted. He played 11 games with the San Antonio Rampage in the 2006-07 season, recording one assist. Sweatt then decided to go to Europe where he played two stints with TPS Turku of the Finnish Elite League, EC Red Bull Salzburg of the Austrian Hockey League and Dinamo Riga of the KHL.

In May of 2010, Sweatt returned to North America when he signed a one-year deal with the Canucks. He played 41 games with the Manitoba Moose in 2010-11, recording had five goals and nine assists.

Sweatt made his Canuck debut on Jan. 26, 2011. It was an eventful debut for Sweatt as he scored his only NHL goal and got a severe bruise from a Shea Weber shot. He played two more games with the Canucks and even got an assist.

Sweatt was supposed to go back to the Manitoba Moose, but he broke his foot blocking a shot in practice, sidelining him long-term. That was, unfortunately, Sweatt’s swan song in hockey. He retired that summer just weeks after signing a two-year deal with the Ottawa Senators.

Now, Sweatt works as an equity compensation specialist in Los Angeles, according to his LinkedIn profile.
