2. Sergei Shirokov,RW (Played eight games with the Canucks from 2009-2011)
Sergei Shirokov was drafted in the sixth round –163rd overall — by the Canucks while he was playing for CSKA Moscow of the KHL. He spent then spent three more years with the club before coming to North America for training camp in 2009.

Shirokov impressed in camp and made his debut against the Calgary Flames. He only played six games with the Canucks in the 2009-10 season, Shirokov and was held pointless in all those games. He had 22 goals and 23 assists in 76 games with the Manitoba Moose of the AHL that season.
Shirokov posted 22 goals and 36 points for Manitoba in 2010-11.He played two games for the Canucks that year, scoring his only NHL goal against the Colorado Avalanche.
The Russian standout would returnto CSKA Moscow in the following year, and the Canucks traded his rights to the Florida Panthers for Mike Duco. In 2011-12, Shirokov tallied 18 goals and 29 assists in 53 games for CSKA Moscow.
Shirokov was later moved to Avangard Omsk during the 2013-14 season. Two years later, he moved on to SKA Saint Petersburg.
He returned to Omsk Avangard in 2018-19, tallying 18 goals and 23 assists in 61 games. Shirokov was also a member of the gold medal-winning Olympic Athletes from Russia team at the 2018 Winter games in PyeongChang.
