It’s time to do a part two of five Vancouver Canucks in the past decade you probably don’t remember.

Two months ago, I wrote an article on five Vancouver Canucks from the past decade you probably forgot about.

It was one of the longest pieces I have ever written on The Canuck Way. I decided to do a second part on the series, so let’s take a look at five former Vancouver Canucks you probably forgot about from this decade.

1. Ryan Stanton, D (Played 118 games for the Canucks from 2013-2015)

Ryan Stanton put some good numbers in the WHL with the Moose Jaw Warriors but he went undrafted. On March 12, 2010, he signed  an entry-level contract with the Chicago Blackhawks.  However, he only played one game with the Blackhawks and spent most of his time with their AHL affiliate, Rockford IceHogs. (Which included back to back 17 point seasons.)

Stanton was put on waivers by the Blackhawks before the 2013-14 season, but he was claimed by the Canucks. He scored his first NHL goal against the Buffalo Sabres against future teammate Ryan Miller. That was his only goal that season, and Stanton added 15 assists in 164 games.

In the 2014-15 season, Stanton scored three goals and had eight assists in 54 games.

In the offseason, Stanton signed a  with the Washington Capitals. He only played one game with them in the 2015-16 season, having spent the vast majority of the year with the AHL Hershey Bears where he had 16 points in 60 AHL games.

In the summer of 2016, Stanton signed with the Colorado Avalanche where he played with the San Antonio Rampage. However, he was traded to the Columbus Blue Jackets after 15 games for Cody Golubef.

In the summer of 2017, Stanton decided to sign a two-year, two-way deal with the Edmonton Oilers. He spent those two years down in Bakersfield with the Condors. This past season, Stanton had five goals and 20 points.

A week ago, he signed a one-year deal with the AHL’s Ontario Reign.
