2019 is finally upon us, which means it’s time for everybody to lock in their new year’s resolutions. For the Vancouver Canucks, there are three goals they need to set and build on in 2019.
The Vancouver Canucks didn’t exactly do a good job of performing any of the three New Year’s Resolutions I wanted to see in 2018, but 2019 is a new year — and the chance for this franchise to set some goals and better themselves.
Well, 2019 is already looking much more promising for the Canucks. Elias Pettersson looks poised to run away with the Calder Trophy. Bo Horvat is enjoying a his finest season as a pro and Jake Virtanen should finally hit the 20-goal mark for the first time in his career.
The Canucks are also surprisingly right there in the playoff race, despite a bundle of injuries along with a miserable month of November. The odds of them getting in are still long, but the fact the Canucks are this competitive at this point of the season is amusing in itself.
But like every other team, the Canucks don’t come without their flaws. There are still a handful of moves that must be made if the team wants to take even more strides in 2019-20. Let’s not overlook the negatives just because the Canucks have surpassed expectations thus far.
Here are three New Year’s resolutions the Canucks need to follow if they want to make 2019 all the more merrier and better.
