The Vancouver Canucks pulled off a surprise win over the New York Rangers at Madison Square Garden on Tuesday night.
Henrik Sedin busted a slump while Alexandre Burrows and Sven Baertschi each scored their first goals of the season.
That win ended a nine-game losing skid, and they’d like to end this road trip with a win against the Detroit Red Wings, who ended a five-game losing streak with a 2-1 shootout win against the Philadelphia Flyers on Tuesday.
Something’s gotta give in this matchup. One team will win its second-straight while the other club’s slump will continue.

Gustav Nyquist: He’s been off to a slow start, but Nyquist is the top scorer on a struggling Red Wings offense. His speed and skills with the puck will provide challenges for the Canucks.
Henrik Zetterberg: Always someone who seems to give the Canucks troubles, Zetterberg has just one assist in his last five games. Perhaps this is the day he breaks the slump.

Mike Green: The Wings’ leading scorer isn’t the 2008-09 player who scored 31 goals, but he remains a force with the puck at both ends of the ice.
