Canucks: On Jay Beagle, Olli Juolevi, Markstrom, and more

Episode three of The Canuck Way Podcast is available now! David Quadrelli went solo this week and dove into some hot topics on the Vancouver Canucks, including the importance of Brandon Sutter and Jay Beagle.

I was set to make my Canuck Way Podcast debut alongside David Quadrelli, but some technical difficulties mid-recording have sidelined me for another week.

Episode three began and we got right to the point talking a lot of Vancouver Canucks hockey, including their back to back battles against their Pacific division rivals, the Edmonton Oilers. Connor McDavid and company came away with the 3-2 victory on Sunday night.

The “Can You Believe It?” segment is thriving and back for round three this week. I myself saw something recently that made my jaw hit the floor and I was quite intrigued to hear Quadrelli’s take on the situation.

He dives into the importance of Brandon Sutter and Jay Beagle and discusses how the Canucks have managed to survive without them, yet the team is strangely starving to get them back into the lineup. And speaking of a healthy roster, the Canucks will have some decisions to make soon when it comes to roster spots. Sutter, Micheal Ferland and Antoine Roussel will return soon.

We finally saw the debut of Oscar Fantenberg with the absence of Alex Edler. How long is he out? Do we need to worry about how many minutes the eagle has been playing? The gang at TCW and the rest of Canucks nation are also glad to hear that Olli Juolevi will begin skating soon after what fans thought was going to be a season-ending injury to the lower body.

Jacob Markstrom got two starts in 24 hours when his solid play managed to get him the nod from head coach Travis Green. Was this the right move by the Canucks bench boss? David has the answers.
