NHL Heritage Classic Tickets Available on Buytopia for $75

If this isn’t a sign of slow ticket sales for the 2014 NHL Heritage Classic between the Vancouver Canucks and Ottawa Senators, I don’t know what is.

Buytopia.ca, the deal-of-the-day site similar to Groupon, is selling tickets to the game on March 2nd for $75 a piece for 200 level seats and $99 for and the 400 level.

By comparison, tickets sold by the NHL for the 200 level start at $93.45 and 400 level range from $135.45 to $208.95.

You would think people would be snatching this deal up? Not quite. The deal has been available for close to a day now and only 13 tickets have been sold.

Ticketmaster told the Globe and Mail’s David Ebner that “not many [tickets] left,” but according to CTV Vancouver, tickets up to eight seats in a single row are still available through their site.

The Canucks are also giving away tickets minor hockey teams leading to at least one writer to wonder if they are trying to fill the building.
