Canucks’ Yannick Weber Cleared to Join Swiss Team at Olympics

Anne-Marie Sorvin-USA TODAY Sports

Vancouver Canucks defenceman Yannick Weber has been cleared to join the Swiss men’s ice hockey team at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia.

Weber left 8:08 into January 31’s game against the Winnipeg Jets with an undisclosed injury and was sent back to Vancouver for evaluation, putting his Olympic dreams in jeopardy.

He will join fellow countryman and teammate Raphael Diaz on the team. They will be two of eight NHL players.

There is no word if Weber will play tonight for the Canucks against the Toronto Maple Leafs.
