Vancouver Canucks Defenceman Ryan Stanton Has Leg Injury

Anne-Marie Sorvin-USA TODAY Sports

Vancouver Canucks defenceman Ryan Stanton left Tuesday’s game against the Minnesota Wild in the second period with what appears to be a leg injury.

Stanton was pulled down by Wild centre Zenon Konopka as they raced for the puck behind the Canucks. It caused him to crash into the boards leg first.

He left the game and came back briefly to test it out, but went back to the dressing room immediately after playing the puck in the Wild zone.

It doesn’t appear Stanton will travel with the Canucks to Dallas where they play on Thursday. He was spotted wearing a protective boot after the game.

Head coach John Tortorella says there are no plans to recall a defenceman from the Utica Comets. This means Andrew Alberts will draw into the lineup on Thursday.

The Canucks play their next game against the Dallas Stars on Thursday night. If you’re in the area, get your Vancouver Canucks vs. Dallas Stars tickets here.
