Report: Sedins Contract Extension in the Hands of the Vancouver Canucks

Anne-Marie Sorvin-USA TODAY Sports

A contract extension for Daniel and Henrik Sedin is in the hands of the Vancouver Canucks, according to Sportsnet’s Nick Kypreos.

He tweeted that a deal could be reached prior to the start of the regular season next Thursday against the San Jose Sharks. The Sedins are believed to be willing to accept a shorter term deal if the contracts carry a $7.5 million annual salary.

The Sedins’ agent, J.P. Barry, indicated to News 1130 Sports on Friday morning that progress was being made towards an extension.

Henrik indicated in August that he would like to have a contract extension done before the start of the season. Barry says he is willing to negotiate into the season.
