Vancouver Canucks Send Eight Players to Utica Comets

The Vancouver Canucks have reduced their preseason roster by eight players on Tuesday.

Left winger Ludwig Blomstrand and centre Alex Friesen were assigned to the Canucks AHL affiliate, the Utica Comets.

Goaltender Mathieu Corbeil, defenceman Sacha Guimond, and right winger David Pacan were all released from their professional tryouts with the Canucks. All three will report to the Comets where they have AHL contracts.

Left wingers Mitch Elliot and Jesse Mychan as well as forward Wes Myron were also released from their professional tryouts, but will attend Comets training camp on another tryout.

The Canucks have 47 players remaining on their preseason roster—four goaltenders, 16 defencemen, and 27 forwards.

The Comets open training camp on September 23.
