Canucks Winger David Booth Expected to be Ready for Training Camp

Jerome Miron-USA TODAY Sports

Vancouver Canucks winger David Booth will be ready for training camp when it opens on September 11, according to his agent Mike Liut.

Liut tells News 1130 Sports his client still has a screw in his ankle, so Booth hasn’t skated yet this offseason. He remains on schedule, however.

The 2013-14 campaign is a pivotal year for Booth after two injury plagued seasons as a Canuck.

Just as he was taking off in 2011-12, he suffered a sprained knee that kept him out of the Canucks lineup for 18 games.

This past season, Booth injured his groin during the first day of training camp while undergoing physicals. He missed the first 14 games of the season as a result. Booth then suffered a left ankle injury in March and that kept him out for the balance of the season.

Many pegged him to be a buyout candidate this summer, but since Booth was injured, he could not be bought out.
