The Vancouver Canucks are working on assembling a coaching staff for the Utica Comets, according to the Utica Observer-Dispatch.
The Canucks named former Portland Winterhawks interim head coach Travis Green as the team’s first-ever head coach in early July. Canucks assistant general manager and vice president of hockey operations Laurence Gilman tells the Observer-Dispatch the team is working on assistant coaches and an announcement will be made soon.
As far as announcing any additional individuals to Travis Green‘s coaching staff, Gilman is working on this and anticipates announcements in the future.
Arniel has joined former Canucks head coach Alain Vigneault in New York as the Rangers assistant coach. Foligno joined the New Jersey Devils as an assistant coach.
Baumgartner signed a three-year deal last summer to be an assistant coach with the Wolves. With two years remaining, he will likely be occupying one of the assistant coaching positions on Green’s staff with the Comets unless the Canucks offer him another role in the organization.
