The Vancouver Canucks have re-signed right winger Dale Weise to a one-year, one-way contract worth $750,000.
It is the same dollar figure that fellow fourth line winger Tom Sestito re-signed for, but with less term.
The two sides avoided salary arbitration for the second consecutive year with the same signing.
This past season, Weise added penalty killing to his repertoire and saw his average ice time increase from 8:09 to 9:33.
However, his physical game remained woefully inconsistent and is still without a winning fight in a Canucks uniform (according to voting on HockeyFights.com).
The Canucks will be looking to Weise for continued work on the penalty kill and a more consistent physical game next season. If he doesn’t, he is a very replaceable part.
Vancouver Canucks avoid salary arbitration with Dale Weise and agrees to a 1year deal $750,000.
