The Vancouver Canucks will be looking to call up more players for training camp after this Friday and Saturday’s Chicago Wolves games against the Abbotsford Heat.
“There’s a real strong possibility that after tonight’s game and tomorrow’s game in Abbotsford, where Chicago is playing, that we’re going to bring in 6-7 more guys, so I’m capable of having some quality scrimmages down the road,” Canucks head coach Alain Vigneault told the media on Friday.
“We’re still waiting on hearing back from the NHL exactly what we can do and can’t do, but in my mind right now I would say that’s a very strong possibility.”
Junior-aged defenceman Frank Corrado is one of the players expected to join the team on Sunday when camp opens. Chicago Wolves goaltender Joe Cannata is another.

The Wolves are Abbotsford this weekend and do not play until Wednesday at home against the Texas Stars.
