Vancouver Canucks goaltender Cory Schneider may have played his last game with HC Ambrì-Piotta of the Swiss National League A.

It is widely believed the National Hockey League lockout is on its last legs and many players are making plans to return to North America in anticipation of a season.

HC Ambrì-Piotta general manager Jean-Jacques Aeschlimann tells News 1130 that Wednesday’s game against HC Davos might have been Schneider’s last game. The team lost to HC Davos by a score of 6-1 and Schneider was in net for all six goals.

Aeschlimann says the team is taking it game by game and is preparing for the eventual departures of Schneider and Colorado Avalanche forward Matt Duchene, the other locked-out NHL player on the team.

Boston Bruins centres Patrice Bergeron and Tyler Seguin have both returned to North America after participating in the Spengler Cup. Ottawa Senator centre Jason Spezza has also returned.
