Vancouver Canucks forward Alexandre Burrows could represent Canada at the 2012 Spengler Cup in Davos, Switzerland.
According to News 1130, Team Canada officials have talked to Burrows about playing in the tournament.
The tournament runs from December 26 to 31 and will be coached by Hall of Famer Mark Messier.
Hockey Canada has traditionally used Canadians playing in Switzerland and did use any locked out NHL players in 2004. However, this time around the team may boast the likes of Tyler Seguin, Jason Spezza, Patrice Bergeron, John Tavares, Matt Duchene and Brooks Laich, who are all playing in Switzerland during the lockout.
The final roster is expected to be named “just before Christmas” according to the National Post.
