Vancouver Canucks goaltender Cory Schneider made his debut in the Swiss League on Sunday for HC Ambrì-Piotta and was victorious.
Wearing number 33, Schneider turned aside 40 of 43 shots en route to a 4-3 win for Ambrì-Piotta over the Rapperswil-Jona Lakers.
Roman Schlagenhauf, Alain Mieville, Jason Williams, Paolo Duca potted goals for Ambri, while Peter Sejna, Robbie Earl, and Benjamin Neukom replied for the Lakers.
Schneider was backed up by former American Hockey League goaltender Nolan Schaefer. The Lakers feature locked out Ottawa Senators forward Jason Spezza.
