He will also miss Sunday’s game against the Lions. Weise will be eligible to return on November 23 when the Trappers take on the Amsterdam G’s.
The suspension stems from a match penalty he received on November 4 against the Friesland Flyers. Weise explained to News 1130 he was called for being the “third man in” on an altercation, but he felt that was not the case. He added that he had to step in to defend one of the better players on the team.
Weise has 15 points in six games with the Trappers.
Canucks winger Jannik Hansen, the only other Canuck that has signed in Europe, apparently only has a contract that lasts until Christmas with Tappara. At that point, “things will be re-evaluated.” In four games with Tappara, Hansen has a goal and three assists.
