Relive the Birth of Towel Power on Hockey Night in Canada by Voting

Vancouver Canucks fans can relive the birth of towel power on Hockey Night in Canada this Saturday—if it gets enough votes.

During the lockout, Hockey Night in Canada has been asking fans to vote online for which classic game to be shown on Saturday night. Voting is unlimited and open until 8pm local on Saturday. This week fans are being asked to choose between:

Apr. 29, 1982: Roger Neilson waves the white towel
The Vancouver coach signalled his surrender during their series against Chicago in one of the most memorable moments in Canucks history.
Dec. 2, 1995: Patrick Roy’s last game for the Habs
Getting shelled by the Red Wings, St. Patrick left the ice and told Canadiens ownership he’d played his last game in le bleu, blanc et rouge.
Oct. 14, 2006: Mats Sundin scores 500th
The Leafs captain scored a hat trick against the Flames to reach 500 career NHL goals, while Cassie Campbell became the 1st female colour commentator in HNIC history.
Oct. 9, 2011: Jets fly home
Fifteen years after they lost their franchise, Winnipeg’s Jets officially came home as they battled the Habs.
Nov 21, 2011: Crosby’s return
After battling concussion-like symptoms that kept him out of the lineup, the Penguins captain returned in a big way against the Islanders.
