NHL owners are represented by Gary Bettman. Mr. Bettman says the owners cannot operate any longer under the current CBA. Players have been given a share of revenue, in addition to their salaries, but they are crying about money. Donald Fehr is trying to save the face of the players, who are solid in their total support of not giving what they have “worked hard” to get.
There are other things to work out, but the big deal is about showing the players the money, or in the owners case, taking back what they have already given.
If the NHL is at the top of their game… they sure won’t be after this. Atleast, in the eyes of fans. I say to fans… stop whining. Do you want them to rush this? I say, No. I don’t want the possibility of another lockout after this. They need to take their time to get this done right. If not handled correctly, then we will have another one in less than 10 years.
This is no way to run the sport of hockey, so get it done… get it right… take whatever time needed so we do not have to go through this again… ever!
