Bring On The Blackhawks!

Mark it down wherever you mark things down. The Vancouver Canucks will be hosting the Chicago Blackhawks during the first round of the 2010-2011 NHL playoffs.

It came down to the wire as to whom the Canucks would face. It was going to be either the Chicago Blackhawks or the Dallas Stars.

It would have most certainly been the Blackhawks if they had beaten the Detroit Red Wings on Sunday afternoon but they ended up losing that game 4-3.

Which meant that the Stars would have gotten into the playoffs as the final 8th seed in the Western Conference if they had won in regulation or overtime against the Minnesota Wild on Sunday.

Win and you’re in. Sounds easy but it’s not.

The Stars ended up losing their game against the Wild 5-3 leading the Blackhawks to secure the final playoff spot in the Western Conference.

The Canucks and their fans are no strangers to the Blackhawks seeing as how the Blackhawks, the defending Stanley Cup champions, have ousted the Canucks from the playoffs the last two years.

Hopefully the third time’s a charm.

The 2010-2011 NHL playoff match-ups are as follows:
