Stars Witness Budding Star

AUTHOR: Larenzo | IN: Canucks | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

When Dallas Stars veteran goaltender Marty Turco suited up to play, he probably never imagined his opponent 200 feet away would be a rookie.
But a rookie he did face, as the Stars squeaked out a 2-1 win at the American Airlines center in Dallas, Texas.  Cory Schneider got his first taste as a starter this season, and put on a show that left a lot of Stars’ fans checking their programs to make sure it wasn’t Roberto Luongo.

With Roberto Luongo still nursing some pain from a cracked rib, Andrew Raycroft continues to shine for the injury plagued Canucks, Thursday night being no exception in Minnesota.
With their top scorer from last season (Daniel Sedin) still out another week and a half to two weeks (broken left foot), Vancouver is finding offense from unheralded sources.

Canucks Weather Avalanche

AUTHOR: Larenzo | IN: Canucks | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

Ryan Kesler and Mason Raymond both scored their 5th goal of the season to do what few NHL teams have done this season – defeat the Colorado Avalanche.
In what would seem like a year of parity in the NHL, the Vancouver Canucks proved what the Anaheim Ducks proved to them two nights earlier: You can be embarassed one night, and come back to have a strong night the next.  Just as the Ducks had been humbled by the lowly Toronto Maple Leafs 6-3 and bounced back against Vancouver, so too did the Canucks get pounded one night (7-2 versus the [...]
